Liverpool

Liverpool image_1.jpg
Even in an urban area like the city of Liverpool, areas of woodland can thrive. We're seeking to improve existing woodlands and introduce more trees to the city in pocket parks, community gardens and along streets, creating an attractive setting for people to live, work and invest.
Where can I visit?

Mab Lane Community Woodland is the green link between Liverpool and Knowsley. Featuring wildflower meadows, orchards, artworks and spaces for sport, recreation and relaxation, it was created to celebrate Liverpool's 2008 European Capital of Culture year.

Calderstones Park includes woodland, lake, fields and ornamental gardens including a Japanese Garden. Pay your respects to the Allerton Oak – estimated at an astonishing 1,000 years old!

Croxteth Country Park features magnificent woodland, grazing livestock and traditional cottages. The Park is an excellent place to see wildlife - the birdsong and wild flowers will soon make you forget you are only six miles from the City Centre.
