
Manage your woodland and grow wood for fuel
If you own or manage woodland in eligible areas of Merseyside or Halton, you can now receive free support to help you manage your woodlands sustainably and grow wood for fuel.
A sustainable management plan will make sure your woodland realises its full potential for years to come. Wood also provides a low carbon fuel, ideal for heating domestic and commercial properties.
What support is available?
The following support could be available to you:
Woodland management advice and information
One-to-one support for landowners and businesses.
Grant advice and assistance (including for the planting of new woodland).
Forest regulation guidance (e.g. felling licences, habitats regulations).
Woodland management planning
The creation of a woodland management plan to help realise woodland potential and encourage sustainable woodland management.
Wood fuel: supply chain advice
Specific technical advice on all aspects of the wood fuel supply chain.
Woodland management advice for the sustainable production of woodfuel products.
Training
Training on managing woodland for wood fuel, sustainable woodland management and wood fuel quality.
