The Mersey Forest is committed to revitalising a large part of Merseyside and Cheshire by increasing tree cover, improving local green spaces and encouraging communities to play an active part in the improvement of their local environment.
With your help, The Mersey Forest Partnership could achieve even more. We continue to seek new partners, funders and supporters to work with us in creating a forest resource for generations to enjoy.
- Get involved in a local community woodland group – through the Community Contracting Initiative, or if there isn’t one – start one! Enjoy helping to manage a local woodland - contact Tamsin Helliwell from The Mersey Forest Team on 01925 816 217 or email tamsin@merseyforest.org.uk.
- Let us know about your ideas for improving your local area – is there an area of wasteland just crying out for a tree or two? Or maybe a whole woodland! Contact Mike Bray at The Mersey Forest Team on 01925 816 217 or email michaelbray@merseyforest.org.uk.
- Help us in creating and managing parts of the Forest, through regular practical task days or through projects such as the Woodland Wildflower seed gathering events. Contact Jo Sayers at The Mersey Forest Team on 01925 816 217 or email josayers@merseyforest.org.uk.
- You can make a donation to help make the Northwest a greener and more satisfying place to live simply and easily through Community Forests Northwest, the charitable trust that supports the work of The Mersey Forest, Red Rose Forest and Pennine Edge Forest. Visit http://www.cfnw.org/donate.htm, or if you would like to set up a regular direct debit to support the Forests' work please contact Jess Boyle on 0161 872 1660 or email jessb@cfnw.org.
- Dedicate a tree through Community Forests Northwest – help us to deliver more community woods by dedicating a tree for a birthday, an anniversary or the birth of a child – invest in a tree that will last for years to come. Or perhaps you have friends or relatives from The Mersey Forest area who have moved away but would love to be able to give something back to the area.
