Booklet celebrates Jubilee Trees project

02 August 2013

The Mersey Forest has published a booklet celebrating the Jubilee Trees project, which resulted in over 100 trees being planted in late 2012 and early 2013 to honour the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The book contains photographs and memories from the project, which saw schools, community groups and businesses digging in to plant commemorative trees across Merseyside.

Local dignitaries, including members of the Deputy Lieutenancy, participated in planting ceremonies in the region.

The project was kicked off in November with a launch event at Liverpool Cathedral, which included live dancing and a choral evensong.

The trees are funded by the national Big Tree Plant campaign and The Woodland Trust, as part of The Mersey Forest.
