Norton Priory volunteers rewarded for their efforts

06 October 2011

The hard-working volunteer team at the Norton Priory Museum and Gardens has been rewarded with a new leisure zone, consisting of a vegetable growing garden and a barbecue area.

The previously under-used spot has now been transformed into a space that can be used by communities to socialise, including a weelchair-accessible large raised bed, fruit trees, seating, planters for herbs and strawberries, and a pizza oven made from cob.

The Mersey Forest helped secure funding for the project from local chemicals manufacturer INEOS ChlorVinyls through the Landfill Communities Fund.
