Croxteth Country Park

Enjoy a peaceful stroll in the country, surrounded by magnificent woodland, grazing livestock and traditional cottages. The landscape here has changed little in over a century.

Miles of paths throughout the park allow you to escape the crowds for a breath of fresh air.

The Park is an excellent place to see wildlife - the birdsong and wild flowers will soon make you forget you are only six miles from the City Centre. Croxteth Country Park contained Liverpool's first Local Nature Reserve - Mull Wood. This LNR has recently been expanded to almost double the size and is now called Croxteth Local Nature Reserve. Volunteers frequently come along and join in events to help us improve habitats in the LNR.

Children will love the adventure playground and all ages can learn to ride at the Earl's former Stables.

The park was first awarded Green Flag status in 2007 and retained the award in 2008 and again in 2009/10. Green Flags represent a nationally agreed high standard of maintenance - awarded to welcoming, safe and clean parks with high quality management, customer care and maintenance of the grounds.

Jungle Parc is an exciting new adventure activity area in part of Croxteth's woodlands. Jungle Parc will give everyone (minimum height 1.05m) the opportunity to swing, glide and climb through the trees! This really is a unique opportunity; Croxteth's Jungle Parc is the first of its kind in the UK.

New for 2009 - seven pieces of 'Outdoor Gym' equipment have been installed - robust outdoor fitness fun designed for use by people age 12 and above. Each piece of equipment has its own instruction plate, indicating muscle groups worked, type of exercise and appropriate number of repetitions. The equipment installed is: the Body Twister, the Agility Bench, the Skier, the Four Wheel Spinner, the Space Walker, the Surfer and the Leg Press.
